Elders, Shepherd the flock

 So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: ² shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight,^[a] not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you;^[b] not for shameful gain, but eagerly; ³ not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. ⁴ And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. ⁵ Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

1 Pet 5:1-5

Quiet and Humble Spirit

 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, ² when they see your respectful and pure conduct. ³ Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— ⁴ but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. ⁵ For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, ⁶ as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.

1 Pet 3:1-6

“And I was afraid, and I went and buried your talent in the ground.” (Matt 25:25) IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER

There are some natural and supernatural forces at work in our lives, keeping us from fully becoming the creative people we were born to be.  I believe calling them out affords a sort of power over the temptation to procrastinate and put off doing what would make us most fully ourselves.

The first force is resistance.  

That is, the inertia around our best, most sacred work. Anything but that our minds and bodies moan.  We experience this resistance because what is most worth doing requires something from us.  It costs us—often dearly.  It means digging deep, drawing forth, going places within ourselves.  It means ignoring all the distractions that glitter around us for the sake of what is not shiny but far more lasting. That means there’s a transaction happening—the spending of energy that we have a limited allotment of every day.  It’s a precious commodity.  It’s something to be stewarded.  And when it is gone—it really is gone. We can’t do excellent work with the dregs of our energy.

“Everyone has his own unique mission, which he discovers when he becomes aware of his talent. The accomplishment of this mission requires all of our vital energies,” writes Alexandre Havard in Created for Greatness: The Power of Magnanimity.

And then, too, creating is risky.  It is vulnerable, because we, by necessity, leave something of ourselves in the work.  Something that could be ignored, scored, or laughed at.  Resistance is often the function of a protective part of ourselves, doing its job, trying to keep us unremarkable. Safe. Blending in means being without the risk of rejection.  And there is an overpowering guardian within us that wants it that way.  “And I was afraid, and I went and buried your talent in the ground.” (Matt 25:25)

God has bigger plans for us, and He knows well the parts at play deep inside.  It is part of His purpose for our healing and spiritual maturity, our growth in wholeness as we grow in prayer, to allow for the creative, expansive side of us to bloom.  The closer we come to God, the more we become like Him, the more we will flourish and show forth His glory.

A Good Soldier of Christ Jesus

 1 You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, ² and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men,^[a] who will be able to teach others also. ³ Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. ⁵ An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. ⁶ It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. ⁷ Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.  2Tim 2:1-7

You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you

 “Now yield and submit yourself to Him [agree with God and be conformed to His will] and be at peace;
In this way [you will prosper and great] good will come to you.

The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance,
    but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.

Power of relationship

Mojawapo ya faida za kuimarisha mahusiano yako na Mungu ni kuwa hautakuwa tena chini ya sheria bali upendo wako kwa Mungu na mahusiano yako nae ndio yatakayokuwa yanakuongoza.

Itakulazimu kutenda mambo mazuri sababu tu  yale mahusiano uliyonayo na Mungu na wala sio kwa sababu sitafaidika au naogopa adhabu.

Taking Charge 3

"So then, my dear ones, just as you have always obeyed [my instructions with enthusiasm], not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation [that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity] with awe-inspired fear and trembling [using serious caution and critical self-evaluation to avoid anything that might offend God or discredit the name of Christ]. 13 For it is [not your strength, but it is] [c]God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure. " Phil 2:12-13

When I read these verses, I saw clearly why we should actively take charge of our lives since God is at work in our lives. It is not that we just have to either do what we feel like or leave it,But WE ARE OBLIGED TO GUARD OUR WAYS TAKING CHARGE THAT WE PLEASE GOD since he is at work in us. God at work in us,what a great and powerful this is.

Taking Charge 2

When I read Prov 31:10-27 I see a woman who has taken charge of her life.

In verse 21 it says that "She fears not the snow for her family,for all her household are doubly clothed in scarlet".  She has not allowed fear of any kind to take charge of her life.

One can ask why is she so confident  that she worries not? When you read the whole part form verse 10-31 one can see the real character of this woman. She is God fearing as well as hard-working and  works persistently in preparing for her family for what it needs presently and in the time to come as well.

One great lesson I can get from this Prov 31 woman is that when we trust God and put our present lives and future lives in his care,he will give us strength and guide us in our walks. Through God given strength (physical,mental as well as spiritual) one can be able to work diligently and provide for the current as well as future needs. We then can laugh at the time to come like this woman In verse 25 since fear no longer takes charge of our lives but practically trusting in God.

Taking charge

When I look at my life,there are areas i see I have not taken full charge/control of them. I see this when I consider the way I can well plan what to do/what needs to be done but unfortunately fail to accomplish the plans. There are many reasons to this but for me  when I reflect, what i see as a hindrace to me is fear.

in 1 Tim 2:5-7 it says
 "I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. 6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

God is telling us that,the faith we have received we should put it in practise and warns us that fear is one of the things that can hinder that progress and growth in our lives.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, from now onwards,I refuse the spirit of fear to take charge of my life. In Jesus name I proclaim my life will be led by God through his spirit of Power,love and self control,Amen.

We have what it takes through Christ Jesus

Paul, a [a]bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle (special messenger, personally chosen representative), set apart for [preaching] the [b]gospel of God [the good news of salvation], 2 which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the sacred Scriptures— 3 [the good news] regarding His Son, who, as to the flesh [His human nature], was born a descendant of David [to fulfill the covenant promises], 4 and [as to His divine nature] according to the Spirit of holiness was openly designated to be the Son of God with power [in a triumphant and miraculous way] by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 It is through Him that we have received grace and [our] apostleship to promote obedience to the faith and make disciples for His name’s sake among all the Gentiles, 6 and you also are among those who are called of Jesus Christ to belong to Him;

7 [I am writing] to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called to be saints (God’s people) and set apart for a sanctified life, [that is, set apart for God and His purpose]: Grace to you and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being] from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Rom 1:1-7

When I read these verses,this is what I get

1. We are called by God

2.Called to be saints

3.Set apart for a sanctified life

4.We have received all we need in this life (Grace and apostleship)

5.We are expected to promote/bring obedience to the faith to all the nations.

To promote obedience to the faith

 It is through Him [Jesus Christ] that we have received grace and [our] apostleship to promote obedience to the faith and make disciples for His name’s sake among all the Gentiles. 

Through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations Rom 1:5

• Njia yako itakuwa kama nuru ing'aayo ikizidi kung'aa hata mchana mkamilifu

In him

For ‘In him we live and move and have our being,’^* as even some of your poets have said, ‘For we too are his offspring.’ Acts 17:28

Usiogope,Mungu ndiye atuwezeshaye kutaka kwetu na kutenda kwetu

One thing I have learned in life so far is that,whenever I face a challenge it in one way or another show how weak/vulnerable on my own I am and that I do not know everything all the time. It encourages me to always be humble before God,remain calm proclaiming victory and be ready so that he can teach me and guide me through the learning process daily and empower me to do all that I have/needed  to do.

 "Basi rafiki zangu wapendwa, kama ambavyo mmekuwa mkitii nilipokuwa nanyi, nawasihi mwendelee kunitii vivyo hivyo, na hata zaidi sasa kwa kuwa sipo pamoja nanyi. Ni Mungu ndiye atuwezeshaye so tusiogope daima tumtumaini na tumkiri yeye

Kusudi la ibilisi

Jambo la kuzingatia hapa unapotamani kutimiza kusudi fulani ni vizuri ukajifunza kwa wale wanaolitumikia kusudi linalofanana la la kwako.
Kamwe usijaribu kukaa pamoja na kuambatana na wale wasio na kusudi la Mungu wakati wewe una nia ya kulitumikia kusudi la Mungu.
