We need to remind ourselves these things every time

5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

10 Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. 11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 12 Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. 13 I think it right, as long as I am in this body,to stir you up by way of reminder, 14 since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. 15 And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things. 2 Pet 1

SUSTAINED

Here we see another crucial aspect of the prayer of supplication—the necessity of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who belong to Christ also have the indwelling Holy Spirit who intercedes on our behalf. Because we often don’t know what or how to pray when we approach God, the Spirit intercedes and prays for us, interpreting our supplications so that, when we are overwhelmed by trials and the cares of life, He comes alongside to lend assistance with our prayers of supplication as He sustains us before the throne of grace (Romans 8:26).

Revelation

Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters,
that the Gospel preached by me is not of human origin.
For I did not receive it from a human being, nor was I taught it,
but it came through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

Reflection: We don't only need to be taught the Word of God,we also need Revelation personally that will confirm what we have heard. We need the Word to be taught with power of God not just words.

Value the Word

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel
other than the one that we preached to you,let that one be accursed!

Discipline

We really need to be careful when we pass through various stages in our lives so that we can always be victorious. We have to make sure we create  a habit of always  reflecting on our experiences and challenges  in light of biblical truths. Rom 12:1-2

Hold fast

I am reminding you, brothers and sisters,
of the Gospel I preached to you, which you indeed received and in which you also stand.
Through it you are also being saved,
if you hold fast to the word I preached to you,
unless you believed in vain.  1 Cor 15:1-2

Reflection:
I learnt that we need to hold fast to the Word so that we get saved not just hearing or reading just once.

Our God

2Thes 1:4-7
Accordingly, we ourselves boast of you in the churches of God regarding your endurance and faith in all your persecutions and the afflictions you endure.
5This is evidence of the just judgment of God, so that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God for which you are suffering.c 6For it is surely just on God’s part to repay with afflictions those who are afflicting you, 7and to grant rest along with us to you who are undergoing afflictions, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his mighty angels

Relfection: When we do good,or suffer for God,lets not be tired because our God is a righteous and has justice,we shall reap what we have sown,May God bless us all!

The Word

The Lord GOD said to me:
As for you, son of man, obey me when I speak to you:
be not rebellious like this house of rebellion,
but open your mouth and eat what I shall give you.

It was then I saw a hand stretched out to me,
in which was a written scroll which he unrolled before me.
It was covered with writing front and back,
and written on it was:
Lamentation and wailing and woe!

He said to me: Son of man, eat what is before you;
eat this scroll, then go, speak to the house of Israel.
So I opened my mouth and he gave me the scroll to eat.
Son of man, he then said to me,
feed your belly and fill your stomach
with this scroll I am giving you.
I ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth.
He said: Son of man, go now to the house of Israel,
and speak my words to them.       Ez 2:8-3:4

Reflection: We can not be servants of God if we do not have his Word in us.We need to hear from Him and then go to serve according to what he has told us.
May God help us read and understand his Word so that we can be able to relate to him well and be able to understand and do what he tells us to do in service for others,in Jesus Name,Amen.

Fear not

Jer 1:7-8
But the LORD answered me,Do not say, “I am too young.”To whomever I send you, you shall go;whatever I command you, you shall speak.Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you—oracle of the LORD.

Reflection:
When God sends us,he is ready to deliver us so that we can work well so let us not fear anything for the Lord is ready to deliver us from our own weaknesses and from anything that can hinder us from serving him well.Our part is to pray always,let us then do so;

Prayer:
Lord, deliver us from our weaknesses and all that is set before us to hinder/distract us from doing your will happily and fruitfully in Jesus Name,AMEN.

Denying oneself

Acts 20:24
Yet I consider life of no importance to me, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to bear witness to the gospel of God’s grace.

Reflection.
Can we really say as Paul said?May the Lord God help us,in Jesus Name,AMEN.

Hearing and obeying

Acts 7:51-53
Stephen said to the people, the elders, and the scribes:
“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears,
you always oppose the Holy Spirit;
you are just like your ancestors.
Which of the prophets did your ancestors not persecute?
They put to death those who foretold the coming of the righteous one,
whose betrayers and murderers you have now become.
You received the law as transmitted by angels,
but you did not observe it.”

Observations
We might be knowing so much about God and about what we ought to be doing but not doing them(stiff-necked people).
Sometimes we are not even able to hear what God is telling us.

Lesson
There is a way we need to be treated so that we can first  hear and then be able to obey God's Word.We need to be healed in our minds, hearts and ears so that we can hear and obey God's Word all the time.

Prayer
Oo Lord God,we humbly ask your precious blood to heal our minds, hearts and ears so that we can hearers and doers of your Word  for your own glory,in Jesus Name we pray,AMEN.
